What is your role in the reconstruction and development of Haiti?

I asked myself what can I do for my country when I was 15? since then I devoted myself to work for a better Haiti. As a journalist I almost die on several occasions for telling the truth both on the streets and at radio stations. I am here in the US to continue that work.
Here I went trough some powerful emotions because the road to serving Haiti was different. The haitian community was detached and very divided with the "tet kok bouda pintad" slogan. The freedom of speech lessened the nostalgia. I learned to forgive to move forward, forgive in a way of letting go of the wrong, find happiness, follow the path of why one is here, one's mission and purpose. My role was surely to voice and unite for change, volunteer to help others. I also had to forgive my parents for shipping me in the diaspora, had I died in the 30 septembre coup d'etat I would not be here discussing with you all. To forgive myself for being alive when others died for the cause otherwise I 'd be blinded with hate and anger, the bad feelings that held victims back. It is not an easy task but if chosen it will happen: the easiest way is to let go and let God, fight the EGO to get in touch with true self. With that knowledge challenges can be overcome, because one have a choice. I choose to ask God to use me for a greater good, I choose to participate in reconstructing and developing this beautiful island that used to be known as "La perle des antilles"

I see myself embracing the cause in its entirety. I want to redefine the whole system of education in Haiti. Using the tools that I have acquired from the United States, I intend to provide workshop targeting the needs of our students in their learning style. I also want to design a national curriculum that establishes a connection in the learning process. An efficient curriculum will eradicate the memorization method and will enable a student to manipulate the materials discussed from pre-k to his/her very last day in High school. There are many other areas that I feel an urge to contribute in, but education is and has always been my greatest area of study and that's where I want to drop a seed of restoration.
